We design an average of 5 to 10 new shapes per year, sometimes retaining only one. So when we introduce a new bag into our collection, it is always a unique event. The Gianni is no exception. First of all, because it reinvents and replaces a best seller, the Sienna. With its construction of a central compartment and two gussets with straight edges, it takes up the emblematic design of the "box" bags, and it is adorned with a brand new clasp, designed and industrialized by hand with our production workshop in Naples. And finally, because the Gianni is the result of almost 10 years of experience, it is what you would expect from a timeless model: style, without being overdressed. A structured base without being rigid. Mathilde, leather goods stylist at Léo et Violette, explains the creative process behind this bag:
"We were looking to design a bag with a long flap, which would have a large capacity, while remaining compact. The gibecière type of bag quickly became an obvious choice because it is an iconic and very practical shape, which corresponds to the DNA of Léo et Violette.
For me, a successful bag must be pleasant, even interesting, to look at, while being adapted to the use that one plans to make of it. So I have been looking for a long time for the best possible construction to combine elegance and functionality.
